The Spiritual Seeker
deepest connection through a mantra
ॐ ज्योतिरूपाय परम् सखाय परमानंदाय दादाश्रीजी नमो नमः
|| AUM JYOTIROOPĀYA PARAMSAKHĀYA PARMĀNANDĀYA DĀDĀSHREEJI NAMO NAMAH ||
The spiritual seeker (hereinafter referred to as "the Seeker"), who is responsible for this project, grew up in an environment shaped by a unique mix of various spiritual traditions.
His mother practiced Raja Yoga and introduced him to the fascination of spiritual practices from an early age. His Christian godmother also practiced a form of yoga, Kriya Yoga from Paramahansa Yogananda, whose constant influence he only became aware of decades later.
His grandmother, a devout follower of the Roman Catholic Church, lived her faith with such devotion that it deeply touched him.
His biological father, from Kandy (Sri Lanka), came from a Sunni Muslim minority and was strongly influenced by Buddhism and Hinduism from an early age, alongside Islam. He became a student of Swami Satchidananda when the latter took over the leadership of Swami Sivananda’s Ashram in Kandy in the 1950s. This fortunate encounter led to the Seeker’s father becoming a yoga and meditation teacher. Swami Satchidananda later became one of the pioneers of interspirituality in the last century and founded a charitable organization for interspiritual and interreligious cooperation.
The Seeker’s stepfather also came from an Islamic family, but from the Shia tradition. His stepfather’s everyday, unconditional devotion to Allah, along with the rituals of Shiism, shaped and enriched the Seeker's admiration for the spiritual, making his perspective even more diverse.
Since the Seeker’s biological father passed away during his childhood, his grandfather from Ticino took on a significant role in his upbringing. Thus, he was also profoundly influenced by the spiritual depth of his grandfather. The latter was deeply connected with both Christian national churches – the Reformed and the Roman Catholic. The mystical climax of this connection revealed itself at his funeral, when his grandfather’s last will was fulfilled: the funeral rites were conducted by representatives of both churches, a Catholic and a Reformed pastor. The message of the grandfather was inseparably tied to a painful episode in the family history: in 1906, the Seeker’s grand-uncle Hans Ferrari died. Since the family was Reformed, the Ticino church, which was then exclusively Catholic, refused to bury him in the local cemetery. The family had to fight all the way to the federal court to gain permission for the burial. 93 years later, the grandfather was buried in the same cemetery – in love and peace, accompanied by representatives from both religions. For the Seeker, this moment was not only a great honor with many tears but also a profound experience that has deeply influenced his spiritual life.
After moving to the Jewish quarter in Zurich in 2004, the Seeker was fortunate enough to have an "adoptive grandmother" as a neighbor, who introduced him to the warmth and wisdom of the Jewish faith.
The Seeker discovered the power of ritual circles around the spiritual fire in various circles:
– by the Theosophical Society,
- the Swiss Spiritualist Church,
– the Neopaganism of Asatru and Wicca covens,
- the ancestor cults and ceremonies of Native American Shamanism (Lakota),
- and by the Candomblé Giras of Orixa.
The Seeker also felt at home simply around the fire with the Swiss Gypsies.
Currently, the Seeker is engaging with Vedic rituals and Jewish mysticism.
The spiritual wealth listed above only became fully apparent to me when I attended a Spiritual Retreat, where I performed Vedic rituals, ceremonies, and energetic processes (developed by Maitreya Dadashreeji). These rituals and ceremonies led me back to my childhood, when I worshiped Hindu deities through chanting mantras with my father. The process triggered during the retreat activated something in my heart that is difficult to articulate with the mind:
"a mediumistically transmitted form of love."
This process marked a turning point in my spiritual journey.
Since that day, I have been connected with Maitreya Dadashreeji through the repetition of this mantra and receive inspirations for myself and others:
|| AUM JYOTIROOPĀYA PARAMSAKHĀYA PARMĀNANDĀYA DĀDĀSHREEJI NAMO NAMAH ||
(Pronunciation and chanting)
Thanks to these diverse influences and experiences, my understanding and great appreciation for the different spiritual paths continue to evolve.
I now offer others a dogma-free perspective that expresses a harmonious connection of all spiritual forms of love and peace.
The goal of my actions and my existence is to promote the spirituality of every fellow human being who resonates with my soul. For this gift and inspiration, I am endlessly grateful to Maitreya Dadashreeji.
